We would like to get together and plan some training days for all the upcoming tests.
We have some new Drahthaar owners that need some help as well as some current guys who need some help with training as well. We all are preparing for tests in this next season, so please contact me fishin4food711@hotmail.com or use the Contact page,if you are interested in attending for training help, support or just to mingle.

August 13th 2011 Training Day
In preparation of the Fall Tests a training day has been formed for, 7 am on August 13th at the Lee Kay Center in SLC, UT. Lee Kay is located at 6000 West 2100 South, Salt Lake City, UT 84128. (801) 972-1326. The dog training area is directly west of the main office.Keys are available to this year round public training ground, at the main office for 10$. A key will be helpful but not necessary.
There is 950 acres of land with varied landscape, hills and ponds. Only Steel Shot may be used at this facility.
Please bring your own drag game, ducks and birds or if you have extra and wish to share them or charge a small fee that would be helpful. Live birds will be needed for point work and live ducks for water work. Some of us do have some frozen game for drags, but not enough for all to train with.
The temperature is expected to be high and it will be hot!! Please pack your own lunch and plenty of water for you and your dog.
We will meet at the first chain link gate, at the dog training area, west of the main office at 7 AM. After that you will need to call Chazz @ 801-915-5780 or Zac @ 801-550-0457 to be let in, unless you have a key. A map has been provided below.

April 9th 2011 Mock Test/Training Day
There will be a group gathering together on April 9 2011 to do a run through for a VJP test.
It is going to be done at Wasatch Wing and Clay in Cedar Valley Utah. There are areas with rabbits and birds will be available for purchase if needed for bird work. Wild birds may be encountered as well during the searching. It will be a good way of getting to know what to expect at the VJP test and have a chance to get some game exposure. June 11th 2010 Training Day
Bo Waller will be hosting a HZP/VGP training day on Sunday July 11 at Hastings Island Hunting Preserve north of Rio Vista. If interested please contact Bo. We will organize different training groups to rotate through on the test subjects in field and water. Have your dogs force broke and ready to participate.
Chukars will be available.

February 27th 2010 Training Day
Fellow member Matt Jones has been generous enough to offer us the use of some land in American Fork. There are a few fields and water is close as well. We will mainly be laying drags as this is not a place populated with rabbits. But it will help get the handlers and the pups an idea of what is to come and how to start a track. We will also be able to work on some pointing and searching too.
I am in the process of trapping pigeons now, but keep in mind i am in the city. Game is hard to come by, so if you can supply a bunny or birds, even if you can bring extra to sell for a small fee. It will all be appreciated.
Meet at 9am, Holiday Gas Station, 300 West Main Street, American Fork, Utah. The property is just South of here. We will caravan from here. If you get lost or late call me @801-915-5780. March 13th 2010 VJP Training Day
There will be a second training day on March 13th in Malta, ID. This is the actual test site for the VJP in April. We will hopefully be able to actually get on live rabbit tracks and run through a mock test scenario. I am trying to get a couple judges committed to coming, so that possibly those of us who are interested in getting our dogs certified loud on fur for the VsWP entry, can do so. If you are a judge and interested please let me know.
We will be meeting at the Cattle Country Steakhouse, 420 N Main Street Malta, ID at 8 am.
It is also the corner of sublett road and Hwy 81. Access from Exit 245(Sublett/Malta) on I-84 (Map Attached below)
