Wild West held a training day at Lee Kay this past weekend. At final count we had 25 Drahthaar's with their handlers show up to check it out. Members came from Northern, Central and Southern Utah as well as all the way from Idaho to get in on the action. It was a wide range of handlers and dogs of all ages. There were those training for HZP and VGP tests, some older pups checking into how to prepare for next spring VJP, and new members and handlers along with brand new pups, getting the ins and outs on how to expose a puppy in its young stage.
It started off as a great, cool morning, but warmed up very quickly and was hot before we knew it. Good thing for the ponds and all the water work for the dogs! I believe everyone that came was able to expose their pup and or dog, get in on the ground floor of preparing a pup and see and train for the upcoming fall tests. All seemed happy to have come and walked away feeling they learned something and met a few new faces.
The fall breed tests are just around the corner, and hunting season is riding along! Happy Training leads to Happy Hunting!!
