First VJP held in this new area and all went well. We didn't have huge numbers of rabbits but were able to run each dog on 2 or more tracks so all in all it was a very productive day.
We started of the morning with a scenic drive along the west side of Utah Lake and hit the desert for some bunnies. After tracking was done, we headed back to Wasatch Wing and Clay, to get into the feild work. Couldn't have asked for better weather, it was pefect for searching and bird work. I would like to thank all that came to test, spectate and help out.Thanks for the pics Jeff V. !!

There was a training day held in Washington State by State Rep Lee Root and other members in the area. They had a great showing of 17 puppies from 7 different kennels that attended the biggest VJP training day ever held in Washington State. Handlers came from British Columbia, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. A big thanks to Lee and all the members who helped put this together and trained throughout the day. We are seeing more and more organized training days as well as groups of members getting together for a quick few hours of training on a weekend. Everyone's efforts are very helpful to the newer members and appreciated by all. Thank You
The 2012 Annual meeting for the Wild West Chapter was held in Cedar Fort, Utah at Wasatch Wing and Clay, followed by a breed show the following day.
We had approximately 40 members present for the meeting, we had a small 5 Stand Clay Shoot Contest, and plenty of area for members to work their dogs and get in a little shooting before the meeting.
The report of the meeting minutes will be posted here in the next few weeks and can also be found in the Chapter Happenings pages of the VDD GNA Spring Newsletter. The up and coming VDD GNA meeting was discussed as well as, Chapter VGP Award, Chapter Breeder Award, Testing, Fundraising, and Chapter Activities. We thank all that could make it for attending and will update the rest with the meeting minutes.We would like to thank Brian Beckstead and Wasatch Wing and Clay for providing us with a nice place to hold the Meeting and Breed Show.
The following day was a Breed Show and a fun filled day with about 40 people and thier DD's. Some were participating in the breed show, others came just to spectate and learn, others enjoyed the clay shooting courses, hunting, or training scattered amongst the property. Thanks to all that came and supported the chapter.
